RSPWDCAZ First Concurrent Phoenix Specialty is a Wrap!

 It was a great honor to chair our first Phoenix Concurrent Specialty at the Heart of the Desert Classic on Saturday, February 1, 2025.  The weather was, as usual, unpredictable!  Mittens were definitely needed in the morning or while in the Coliseum and by the afternoon the sun was shining and jackets tossed to the chairs.  

We had our usual tent in the Backyard of the Arizona State Fairgrounds where guests and members enjoyed a "nosh" of coffee and donuts in the morning and Potbelly sandwiches, drinks, and snacks for luncheon.  

Raffle baskets were abundant with rowdy excitement during the ticket pull!  Thank you, Lilly, granddaughter of new member, Lana Stewart from Canada for pulling and reading tickets for us!  All proceeds from ticket sales will be earmarked for our future events.

Thank  you to everyone who made RSPWDCAZ's first Phoenix Concurrent Specialty a success--our  terrific committee, Jim Beach, Co-Chair; Sherri Horstman, Trophies; Janis Welsh, Rosettes; Gail Gomez, Hospitality; Lauren McDermott and Michele Murphy, Raffles, Set-up, cleanup and all-arounders, Janis Watts and her daughter  for all their help, everyone who donated baskets full of "treasures"  for our basket raffle, the Heart of the Desert Classic for inviting us back this year and supporting our long-awaited Specialty,  our Sweepstakes Judge, Ms. Maria Arechaederra, Specialty Judge, Mr. Dana  Cline, and everyone who came out to enjoy the fun, camaraderie, and competition, and to all  who donated towards and/or sponsored our Rosettes and Trophies we are especiallythankful.
